Hey! I'm a New York based actor and Voice Over artist; born and raised in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico; a beautiful "small" town in the rural North Western part of the island. When I was growing up, it was a town with an economy based on sugar cane, cattle and some factories too; as we say, I'm a true and proud "jíbaro". I'm very hopeful that my country's economy improve soon because our talents and resources are amazing.
Since I was a little boy I always liked to study and learn new things which I still love up to these days. I'm always reading some new self improvement article, book or taking a new class so I can further my skills and knowledge. A nerd!? Well, in school I was attracted to all subjects especially math, languages and loved class participation. Not having much extracurricular activities in a small town I fed from being competitive and studied the most I could on all subjects. Being raised in the boy band era of La Pandilla and Menudo I've always loved expressing myself physically through movement, singing out loud and through language in general.
My first taste of theater and arts was in elementary school; I went to a Catholic School-Colegio San José in Lares; when I was about five or six years old I was cast to participate in my first school parade as one of Snow White's dwarfs but unfortunately I didn't show up because not only because I used to be a very sick boy and I had a doctor's appointment in the city but mainly because I didn't remember to tell my mom what day exactly was the parade going to take place!?! So the day of the parade they ended up being 6 dwarfs, for this dwarf didn't or couldn't remember which day of the week was it going to take place!
Sorry Snow White!!
Later in school I was cast as Jesus the little boy in the scene where He speaks to the wise men in the temple and I cracked up onstage with my scene partner for like a nice 10-15 seconds (which actually felt like an hour) and it was such a real moment and we had such a great audience response which after the embarrassment I loved it so much and it made me think, "Hmm... I love the attention this is giving me". All through the different school levels I participated in many occasions in plays: acting, singing, and in dancing celebrations which with no real dance training up to that point I even choreographed some times. I'm also very attracted to the theme of justice and fairness in general which is hard to manage sometimes because I would like to please everybody.
While pursuing a degree in Architecture I took the majority of my electives from the Drama Department of The University of Puerto Rico, but it was not until I came to NYC to further my skills as a dancer and performer that I decided to enroll in a formal acting school at the Conservatory of The Actors Center-J. Michael Miller, I started my Meisner Tech studies at Wendy Ward Studio and continued at The Esper Studio with Mr. William Esper himself.
Commercial Technique with David Cady (Donna De Seta Casting); Lucid Body and classical text with Fay Simpson and Joe Siravo, Shakespeare with Ian Hersey; and "On Camera" Technique with Mr. John Swain, Ted Slubersky and Scott Freeman, Charles Carrol and Tony Plana, Tim Phillips and most recently Ms. Rosalyn Coleman. My voice and singing training has been with the guidance of Grace Zandarski, Beth Mcguire, Sabrina Lastman, Dan Manjovi, Thelma Ithier and also being part of The Unity Choir under the direction of Britt Hall for several years.
My formal dance training started during my late teens as a scholar in Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico, Bailos jazz company under the direction of teacher and choreographer Edwin Ballester with whom I went to New York City to study and perform at Broadway Dance Center for the first time, Ballet Municipal de San Juan and Ballet Municipal de Bayamón and later I had my first regular dance job as Ballets de San Juan company member for various years before coming to NY. I went to NYU-Tisch School of the Arts and Alvin Ailey American Dance School. When finally moved to NYC trained as a scholar with the majority of the faculty members at Steps on Broadway and I was given a grant to study at Jacobs Pillow through the teaching and guidance of Mr. Chet Walker, Tony Stevens and legendary Matt Mattox and his wife Martine Limeul Mattox. An amazing experience!
Being raised in the 70's and 80's, music (merengue, salsa, disco, rock, new wave, ballads) and pop culture influenced and impacted me a lot. I feel excited and honor that through my career as a dancer I performed in many shows and tours with recording stars who I grew up listening to such as: Ednita Nazario, Danny Rivera, Yolandita Monge, Yuri and many others but also in musicals in my native Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Central America and in the US.
As one of my first gigs in US I toured the whole country as part of an Industrial ensemble under the direction and choreography of Maria Torres.
I performed as a soloist and ensemble with New York City Opera for a couple of years in Traviata and Rynaldo.
I don't pursue my career as a dancer anymore but I love to exercise and to keep myself in shape so I take yoga, Pilates and swim on a regular basis. I love helping others through causes and organizations I believe in as: Alzheimers, Broadway Cares Equity fights Aids, R.Evolucion Latina and Unity NYC.
I also enjoy helping others through my passion for languages as a Certificate Degree in Legal & Medical Translation and Interpretation Spanish<>English from Hunter College (City University of New York); where I received CUNY's The Helena Rubinstein Scholarship and was also granted The Career Transition for Dancers Grant for which I'm very happy and grateful to have obtained.
I've worked as a Spanish translator in some plays also for instance: "8", the play by Dustin Lance Black, based on the legal and civil rights repercussions of Gay Marriage in the state of California.
I'm fully Bilingual with some Proficiency in French and an overall ease and passion for languages and dialects.

"- I enjoy performing and collaborating with other colleagues and being able to express and convey feelings and sensations using my talents and skills
-I love drama, irony and I think I could keep developing my skills in comedy, I was always the class clown and I think I could keep revealing that part of me
- I'm attracted and challenged by themes that deal with love and betrayal, equality, health, prejudice, learning, overcoming obstacles, brotherhood, patriotism, beauty but overall justice!
-I love and appreciate the opportunity and responsibility I have to touch others
-My ideal world is one where I can move freely, where I can create shapes, emotions, rhythm and colors without experiencing any pain or judgments; although for many this could be the afterlife, I think we could start here now"
